The stonewashed silk drapes beautifully and has a soft hand.

Starting with a black rectangle of stonewashed silk crepe, I folded the fabric using an itajime shibori method of resist then discharged the fabric until I ended up with the result you see here.

The discharge process resulted in a tan tone with hints of blue-grey and black circles.

One of my favorite things about using shibori techniques are the unexpected patterns that occur from resists. Each twist and tie makes a new unique pattern for you to wear and you can continue to explore how to wear the scarf for years!
